SHOWCASE
INFO FOR IMPERSONATORS AND LOOK A LIKES
The
Sunburst Showcase Of Starz!
EVERY
ARTIST WHO ATTENDS IS PRESENTED ON STAGE!
TWO
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SHOWS!
SINGING
& COMEDY ACTS: You may perform one song, medley or comedy
routine totaling no more than 4 Minutes.
If you are singing....IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO PERFORM AN UPBEAT
SONG! TRUST US! Also, if your performance is only 3
minutes and 10 seconds....go ahead and leave your performance at
that. In other words, don't try to make the time up by talking
to the audience. It makes you look more professional to finish
the performance and leave the stage.
LOOK
A LIKES (Non musical or non-comedy acts): You will be
presented on stage. A "Celebrity" MC will bring you
on stage for an up close and personal interview. You can be
funny, promote yourself, give your bio, background and experience or
whatever you would like to do! YOU HAVE UP TO TWO MINUTES.
This is your opportunity to SHINE! If your character gets
booked for Meet and Greet only, this is the BEST way to show the
talent buyers what you are about!
NEW
COMERS TO THE BUSINESS: THERE IS A SPECIAL SHOWCASE FOR
YOU! You will be featured in our "PREMIER SHOWCASE"
sometime between 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM on the first day of
showcases. We will present you on stage with your act and you
will be able to distribute your promo material. WE FIND LOTS OF
GREAT TALENT IN THIS SHOWCASE! This IS the place to try out a
new act. Come to the convention....you will learn a LOT!
EVERYONE:
-
Bring
your promotional material. It will be displayed on The PROMO
Table for the agents' convenience to pick up after the
showcases. Please stand behind your material (at the table) and
greet the talent buyers in person after the showcase on both days.
This will be in a seperate room this year and
you will have more room to display your wares.
-
Bring
LOTS of business cards. Give them to everyone...even the bartender.
-
Please
do not hand promotional material to talent buyers at our social
gatherings. They will have no place to keep it. No
videos, DVD's or head shots. Business cards are
okay. Please remember, the buyers are enjoying themselves and
socializing as well.
-
Please
do NOT set up banners, stand ups on the "Talent Buyers"
table. Small DVD Players will be allowed this year.
Electricity is NOT provided. You would need to set up a vendors
booth if you need more than this. Info On Vendors, click
here.
-
SHOWCASE
CD's: Bring Your Audio CD's With You! Bring a back up as
well. Try them out on a few players to make sure they are
compatible with any CD player. MP3's will not work.
Cassettes will NOT be accepted. ALSO: Eric Rung has
requested that if your are burning a CD for the showcase (especially
those using NERO to burn your CD's) to please make sure you burn your
CD's at a rate of 4x, 2x, or 1x. If you burn them at full
speed, you stand a chance of your CD skipping. Probably not,
but the chance is great if you burn it at full speed. Many programs
burn at 36x speed. Call or email him if you have
questions. Eric@entertainmentcaterers.com
-
As of
now, almost most of the agents will be the same for both day's
showcases. THE SHOWCASES FEATURE DIFFERENT ACTS EACH DAY!!
-
Please
take advantage of our COMFORT STATION provided by Lowman
Entertainment and the Massage Therapists* we have provided for you in
the lobby. We will also have a wig specialist, photographer,
videographer, costumer and other vendors available. These are
VENDORS and The Sunburst Convention is not responsible for their work
or claims.
-
Brian
Cole of The Edge Factory will have his video staff there to video
tape the showcase. You can purchase your showcase from him AT
the convention and take it home with you. It will be a 4 camera
shot of your performance. Edgefactory is independent of
Sunburst. Sunburst is not responsible for work or claims.
-
The
stage will be dressed by TUNE TIME PRODUCTIONS, the official
Set/Decor Company of The Sunburst Convention.
-
Entertainment
Caterers is the Official Production Services Company For The
Sunburst Convention. They are providing several thousand
dollars worth of Brand New, State of the Art, High Tech Sound Systems
and Microphones! Eric Rung is our man! There will not be
a sound check, however, we will conduct a general sound check before
each day. If you have concerns, please MAKE SURE you tell Lori,
the Stage Manager.
-
Final
line up will be approved by The Stage Manager by 9/05/08 to obtain
the best flow for the show. YOU MUST ATTEND
THE STAGE MANAGERS MEETING AT 11:00 AM on the day of your
showcase. You will find out which day you are showcasing by
email no later than September 10, 2008. Premier showcase
performers know they are performing on the first day of
showcases. IF YOU MISS THE STAGE MANAGER'S MEETING, YOUR
SHOWCASE SPOT WILL BE GIVEN TO AN ENTERTAINER ON THE WAIT LIST.
NO EXCEPTIONS. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.
-
*Non-registered
Entertainers coming to the showcases (as spectators) must pay $50 as
opposed to the $15 for the general public. The booking
potential is strongest on these days and it would only be fair to
those who pre-registered and paid full price. Promo material
(on the tables) will only be allowed by those who pre-registered for
the convention.
-
Before
and during the showcases, please address any concerns with Terry
Rintleman (He looks like Ozzie Osbourne), Lynn Frey, John Krol or Jim
Lowman. See Eric Rung concerning any audio questions and
see Lori Jessup with any questions concerning the showcase, including
line up, props, etc.
-
Agents
MUST wait until the last showcase on each day's performance to pick
up any promotional material. Artists' material will be
displayed on the "Talent Buyers" table both days. You
may bring Business cards, Videos, DVD's, CD's, Headshots etc to give
out to talent buyers. We would suggest about 50-60 promo packages.
-
PROMO
PACKAGES SUGGESTION: As an entertainer myself, I understand the
problem with giving out sooo many promo packages. Many times an
agent will still call you and ask for another one. We might
suggest that this year, you use "ONE SHEETS". This is
a full page promo with YOUR PHOTO on one side and your BIO or Show
Description on the other. A Show or Performance
Discription is best. Do NOT put your resume on there.
Make sure your Name and Contact Info are on the back. If the
agent is interested, they can call you. You can then send them
your DVD and complete promo package. It save packing space and $$.
